    Frequently Asked Questions

    Most frequent questions and answers

I have pre-existing medical conditions, can I still dive?

    With doctors clearance, yes!

For a majority of medical conditions, you are still able to dive with a your doctors clearance. However there are a few conditions which mean diving is prohibited. These conditions include Epilepsy, Burst lung (pneumothorax) and serious heart conditions.

If you have a medical condition, get in touch with our team and we can send you the medical questionnaire. If everything comes up as ‘No’ then you are able to dive without medical clearance. Should you have a ‘Yes’ on your medical then you can take the form to your doctor and they will decide whether diving is possible.

In the case of pregnancy, diving is forbidden for the safety of the baby.

You can find a copy of the medical here.

Which course do I need to complete to gain a qualification?

Looking to earn a scuba diving qualification? This is the place!

We offer both the Open Water Course and the Scuba Diver Course which allows you to gain your first PADI certification and dive worldwide.

What’s the difference between the Scuba Diver and Open Water course?

The Scuba Diver course takes 1.5 days to complete, and allows you to dive to 12m with a PADI Professional.

The Open Water course takes 3 days to complete, and allows you to dive to 18m anywhere in the world.

Both courses start on a Tuesday and Friday each week.

You can find all the information you need for both courses here!

Online – You can purchase the activity via our website and pay using PayPal or Credit card.

I’m a qualified diver, what dives do you offer?

Are you a qualified diver interested in joining some local dives or day trips? Check our schedule!

If you hold a diving certification whether PADI or a different organisation then you can join us on any of our local dives. Which dives you can join varies depending on experience and certification level.

We have a biweekly schedule which offers a variety of dives including boat, shore, wreck and reef dives. Take a look at our schedule and see which dives take your interest.

For those divers that would like to spend more time in the water we also offer day trips and dive packages. If your not sure what to go for message our team for more information!

If you have been out of the water for a more than a year or are newly qualified then we would recommend first completing a  refresher dive. Refreshers or shake out dives ensure that you remember the most important safety skills and that you are comfortable under the water. You can find out more here.

I’m a qualified diver but I haven’t been diving in a while. Do I need a refresher dive?

    Yes!

As a qualified diver, you know that in scuba diving, safety comes first!

We recommend a refresher to any diver that has been out of the water for a year or longer or to divers that were newly certified over 6 months ago. The refresher program gives you the opportunity to practice skills, become comfortable with our equipment and go for a dive.

Refresher dives are available Monday-Saturday at 08:30 and 14:00 and can be included in dive packages.

I have never dived before but I would love to try it. Which activity can I do?

    Discover Scuba Diving!

The Discover Scuba Diving programme is a fantastic introduction into the amazing underwater world! It’s suitable for beginners, and anyone over the age of 10 can enjoy the program.

This program is broken down into three sections, briefing, pool and dive in the sea! In just 3-4 hours you will have experience the beauty of the underwater world.

Find out all the information about this experience here.

Do we offer discounted rates for groups and dive clubs?

    Yes we do!

For groups larger than 6 people (7+ divers) we have discounted rates depending on how many divers there are and how many dives you would like to do.

For individual divers we offer dive package rates, you can find them here.

As each group is different its best to message our team directly so we can make a custom schedule to fit your group or club.

I have been diving before but I’m not qualified, what can I do?

I have tried diving before but I don’t have a certification, what are my options? Join us for the Discover Scuba Diving program or gain your certification!

The first option is to join the  Discover Scuba Diving program. PADI and ISO standards say that any diver without a recognised certification need to be considered a novice diver. The Discover program is a fantastic experience which takes just 3-4 hours to complete. During this program you will learn about the basics of scuba diving, practice a few skills in the pool and go for a dive in the sea. You can find out more about this program here.

Option 2 is to gain your certification! If you’ve tried diving before and you’re interested in doing it again then it may be worth spending the time to gain your PADI qualification. You can gain the first PADI qualification in just 1.5 days which will allow you to dive all over the world! For more information about the PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water courses head over to our courses page!

Do I need to book in advance for the scuba diving activities?

    YES!

We recommend making all bookings in advance. This allows us to allocate the correct number of staff to each program and provide the best experience possible for you!

Bookings can be made by phone, on WhatsApp, Facebook, by email or by dropping into the shop. You can also purchase the diving products from our online shop and a member of our reception team will be in touch with you to confirm the date and time of the activity.

Making your booking in advance is the best way to ensure that you get the time and date that suits you. If you leave it until last minute then our activities may be fully booked especially in the summer months. If you’re unsure of which activity to book, speak to our team. They will be able to give you the best advise about the dives and programs that suit your needs.
